Matchplay: Scramble
- Play from the best shot. Best score wins the hole. 1 point per hole. 2023 - Ties do not carry over.
- Both players entitled to preferable lie, one club length semi circle no advantage to the hole (including player whose shot you are playing).
For example, if the shot is behind a tree, both players are entitled to a club length in the same terrain (ie shot in the rough has to stay in the rough even if fairway is one club length away). - Standard USGA rules unless otherwise specified.
- Assume you have to make every putt no matter how short unless the other team indicates that you do not (this includes holes that are already lost, as there is a prize for lowest score).
- Playing all out of bounds as red stakes, take your next shot parallel to where the ball entered the penalty area, and assuming 3rd shot if out of bounds off the tee.
- If unsure if your partners shot is playable, leave the safe ball until you are sure your partner is safe.
- Please enter all scores into 18Birdies immediately after the hole, confirming scores with the other team. This will function as the official scorecard.
- You must use your HwS official ball until you lose it.
- Additional points for closest to the pin, longest drive, closest second shot, and longest putt (2 points per activity), as well as 2 points for not losing a ball per 18 holes.
Pace of Play - We have a big group so we need to keep the line moving this weekend. Not saying you need to rush, just keep on moving. While you are chatting, make sure you grab your clubs or keep moving towards your ball while you are talking. We don’t want to get in the bad books of the marshall and have to skip any holes. Play ready golf all weekend, which means each team just goes to their own ball and whichever team is ready to shoot can go ahead and shoot, don’t worry about the order of play.
